The lake rose to 76 percent of its storage capacity, and water temperatures reached spawning range. The largemouth and spotted bass bite improved significantly, with anglers using hula grubs, drop shots, Senkos, and C-rigs to get bent. Favored colors included shades of green with black or gold flake, Aaron’s Magic, and Tequila Sunrise. Crappie anglers reported better fishing over submerged bushes and trees using small live minnows and minijigs. A trout plant took place last week, and rainbows responded well to garlic Powerbait in orange, green, and rainbow colors, while spoons and spinners also fooled fish, especially early in the week.
