Castaic Lake held near 81 percent of its storage capacity and water temperatures were in the mid-60s. Castaic has been kicking out crazy numbers of large and smallmouth with fish taking just about any finesse bait. Senko style baits, C3 baits, and Roboworms all took bass in 2 to 20 feet of water. Green and baitfish colors worked the best but other colors worked for bites as well. Anglers also reported doing well with small swimbaits, flukes, and jerkbaits. The striped bass bite was still on hold – fingers crossed for that bite to pick up soon. Catfish anglers did well along the west ramp with chicken liver and dip bait.
