Isabella lake increased this week to 55 percent of its capacity and continues to rise. Crappie have been making a good showing the last couple weeks. Our contacts reported limit style fishing with live shiners, Keitech easy shiner 2” swimbaits and white/yellow minijigs. Anglers have been scoring crappie near the cages and structure at Kissack cove and Paradise Cove. Anglers reported visually seeing crappie in 2 to 5-feet of water around brush piles. The bass bite has really improved this week. Bass have been coming on mid diving jerkbaits and crankbaits. Zoom trick worms on Shakey heads and natural shad Senkos are fooling bass. The trout bite continues to be very good since the Isabella Lake fishing derby. Shore anglers have scored trout with minijigs, garlic scented Powerbait, Pinched Crawlers, Roostertails and mousetails. Boat anglers have done well trolling leadcore followed by Flicker shad, Tasmanian Devils and Needlefish. The CDFW have a scheduled trout plant here this week. The catfish bite improved this week on SSS Dip Bait, cut mackerel, and sardines.
