This week Isabella Lake increased to 58 percent of its storage capacity. The CDFW stocked trout here last week and anglers reported limit-style fishing for the past few weeks. Shore anglers found trout with Mousetails, Garlic scented Powerbait, spinners, trout worms and GULP! Pinched Crawlers. Boat anglers trolling lead core have had success with Needlefish, Tasmanian Devils and Flicker Shad. The crappie bite has been best later in the day, and they are still relatively shallow. The key is being versatile and moving around to find the correct structure with biting fish. Most of the fish being reported are coming in 5 to 15-feet of water on minijigs and live minnows. One of our sources reported trolling small fire tiger patterned crankbaits and picked up multiple slabs. Bass are being found all over the lake. Quality bites are coming in 2 to 20-feet of water. Shakey heads, spinnerbaits and Senkos are generating quality bites. Catfish can be found with cut bait, Dip Baits, and shrimp.
