Midges are still the primary focus on Fall River, with olive, black, and purple Zebra Midges producing fish all day long. PMDs and Caddis are also popping mid-day and into the evening, giving solid dry fly opportunities in shaded riffles and foam seams. For nymphing, Flashback Pheasant Tails, small soft hackle variations, and mini jig leeches have been reliable. Balanced leeches are also a great option when fish slide into the deeper, slower water.

When things slow down, start stripping streamers. Small olive or black leeches and sculpin-style patterns can wake up those bigger fish holding under structure or deeper pools. Long leaders, light tippet, and careful drifts remain key, but mixing in a streamer approach when the bite goes quiet can turn the day around.
