Fishing forecast (September–November): DWR community fishery trout stocking efforts typically resume late September, when water temperature is cooler and water quality (pH and dissolved oxygen levels) has improved. Fall trout stocking efforts generally continue throughout October and end in late November. Trout fishing becomes good to great during these cooler fall months. In September, the surface water temperature is much warmer than the rest of the water column, which drives the trout toward the bottom. As water temperatures cool in October and November, the temperature becomes consistent throughout the water column. When this happens, trout begin actively feeding from the bottom to the surface to bulk up before winter. A variety of tackle can be effective: lures (such as inline spinners, casting spoons and minnow-imitation baits), jigs (such as marabou or hair jigs, and tube jigs), flies (such as as dry flies, dry-dropper rigs, nymphs under an indicator and woolly buggers), and nightcrawlers or trout dough baits
