Lake Isabella has dropped slightly to 40% of capacity, with water temperatures holding near 80 degrees. Crappie fishing remains excellent in 5–20 feet of water around structure. Anglers are landing quality slabs on live shiners and jigs, with productive options including super-small dagger-style mini jigs, Indian crickets, Get Bent Baits, and 2-inch Keitechs. Both shallow and deeper bites have been good, though colors and depths are shifting day to day. Consistent action has come from Red’s Marina, the North Fork trees, and the cages near Kissack Cove. The bass bite is solid, starting early with topwater around isolated stick-ups and rock piles. Poppers, walkers, and prop baits have all produced. As the sun climbs, anglers are switching to 6–9 inch Texas-rigged worms in purple, Aaron’s Magic, or red craw, targeting 15–25 feet off points. Catfish are showing later in the day and into the evening on SSS dip bait, frozen shad, and nightcrawlers. Trout anglers are connecting near the North Fork with floating baits, while boaters trolling deeper near the dam have scored well with Tasmanian Devils, Needlefish, and Flicker Shad.
