Gerber Reservoir is ice free. Fish sampling by Bureau of Reclamation has been slow this year. The amount of water and colder water temperatures might be part of this. Use small hooks and bait for the perch as most are small with small mouths.
Best place to fish for perch is at the north boat ramp. The crappie should be moving soon to near shore for spawning.
The reservoir is 93 percent full and should fill this year creating excellent opportunities for crappie. Call the Klamath Falls BLM office for updated information.
Gerber Reservoir is a large turbid reservoir with good bank access. Most of the reservoir is on BLM property. Open all year.
