Wrigley Springs Reservoir - Ferron, Utah

Lake Information

Fish Species: Rainbow Trout, Brook Trout, Tiger Trout
Wrigley Springs Reservoir near Ferron, Utah, is a quiet, high-elevation fishery located in the Manti-La Sal National Forest. At around 9,200 feet, the lake provides scenic trout fishing for those targeting brook trout and stocked tiger trout in a peaceful mountain setting.

Shoreline fishing is excellent, with minimal brush and easy access around most of the lake. Fly anglers have success with woolly buggers, beetles, and dry flies like parachute Adams and elk hair caddis, particularly during midsummer insect hatches. Spin anglers do well with small spinners and spoons, especially in the early morning and evening.

Tiger trout are stocked by the Utah DWR, and brook trout reproduce naturally, ensuring a steady supply of eager fish. Float tubes are not required but can be helpful when targeting deeper drop-offs.

Access is via seasonal forest roads, typically open from late June to October. High-clearance vehicles are recommended. Primitive camping is available near the reservoir, with no developed amenities on site.

Wrigley Springs is managed under general trout regulations—anglers should consult the Utah Fishing Guidebook before visiting. The lake’s seclusion, reliability, and natural beauty make it an excellent destination for backcountry trout anglers exploring the Ferron Canyon region.
