Fish Species: Cutthroat Trout, Rainbow Trout, Tiger Trout, Splake

Rainbows are the most common catch, typically 12–16 inches, and bite on bait like PowerBait, worms, or salmon eggs. Trolling small lures near the dam or coves is productive in spring and fall.

Tiger trout are more aggressive and grow quickly. They’re often found near structure and respond well to jigs, streamers, and large spoons. Fish over 18 inches are common.

Splake are less abundant but offer solid winter fishing, particularly through the ice using baited jigs.

Millsite State Park features a boat ramp, restrooms, and camping. Ice fishing is possible most winters, depending on conditions.

Millsite combines easy access, great trout fishing, and stunning canyon scenery, making it a great option for both locals and visitors.
