Access to recreation areas throughout much of upper Oak Creek Canyon reopened on Sept. 17. However, with monsoons still active, the potential for large pulses through upper Oak Creek an West Fork Oak Creek are still possible. Access to the West Fork Oak Creek and Call of the Canyon Recreation area will remain closed through Sept. 30 due to flash flooding and runoff associated with the Pocket Fire. More information can be found on the Coconino National Forest website. The Department has delayed stocking of Oak Creek until the impacts from the Pocket Fire can be evaluated. Once conditions are suitable, stocking will resume.
