The lake rose to 87 percent of capacity, and fishing was good early in the week with striped bass producing well. Most anglers pulled stripers from the depths on spoons, but there was also an afternoon topwater bite. Trolling umbrella rigs produced plenty of smaller-grade fish. Largemouth and smallmouth seemed lethargic but were still available for anglers fishing deep and slow with four- and six-inch straight-tailed worms in purple, brown, and dark green. Catfish ate cut baits, chicken liver, and dip bait near the inlet.
