The lake rose to 78 percent of its capacity, and fishing was very good for a winter bite. Many anglers reported 10 to 30 bass, mostly on finesse baits. Largemouth and smallmouth held from 10 to 30 feet deep on main lake points, and drop-shotting finesse worms in tequila sunrise, ox blood, and shad produced plenty of fish. Spoons were another go-to technique, especially for bass holding deeper, and they also picked up linesides. Trolling umbrella rigs was another effective way to boat striped bass. The cut-bait bite had yet to develop. Anglers continued to report random three-pound rainbows on bass lures throughout the lake, and catfish picked up cut baits and chicken liver on a long soak.
