Stocking: The lake was stocked with 1,500 pounds of catfish the week of May 19th. The next stocking of 1,000 pounds will be the week of June 16th. A total of 8,500 pounds of catfish will be stocked. The lake is now open until midnight on Fridays and Saturdays!

What’s the Catch? The catfish bite is on! Fishermen are having success around the tower buoy line with mackerel and nightcrawlers. It seems most of the bites are coming off of boats during early morning and late evening hours. Bass are still chasing soft plastics and topwater lures early in the day. They’re going to be most active during low light hours and will be deep near ledges and channels during the warm afternoons. Redear are biting throughout the day on meal worms or red worms. Our rangers recommend, fishing shallow in the back of the coves. If you don’t get a bite in 15-20 minutes, move to another location.

Conditions: The current water temperature is 72 degrees at the surface. The aerator has been turned on, so the dissolved oxygen content is well mixed. The days are getting longer with the sun rising at 5:42 a.m. and setting at 7:50 p.m.
