Escape the summer heat and head to Electric Lake for some great summer fishing. Tiger trout feed along the weedy shoreline on invertebrates and redside shiners. In the heat of the day tigers will find deeper water, but will return to the shorelines in the evenings or at night. Cutthroat trout will be more active in late June and July after their spawn. They will feed in 20’-30’ deep water and can be found throughout the lake. Kokanee salmon are becoming the most popular fish in the lake. Best fishing is in the bay near the dam. At daylight kokanee will be in 30’-40’ deep water feeding on zooplankton. As more sunlight penetrates the water column zooplankton will go deeper and the kokanee will follow.
