Hi Folks, ?????? Wow!! I don't believe it myself. After winning two of the first three Friend of Cal-Ore Fish steelhead derbies the last thing in my mind was winning another one. These derbies are just what I do to do my part for the hatchery programs. But it happened! Yes , I won three of four derbies held this year. What a season. The fishing was all in all pretty good and I was very busy this year. And to pull a hat trick like this off is more than I could ever wish for. I had some of the best guides as partners in the first derbies along with some great fisher persons. This last derby was a women's event. That's right the girls took over the rivers and it was a real kick. This was the second girls derby and my first. I hope I get to do it again. My team Meghan and Linda were a blast. Good job girls!!

So the steelhead season is behind us accept for a couple days I'll be on the Klamath. I'm going to take some time off before heading to the Sac. to do some striper fishing. It sounds like I might not be taking as much time off as I thought. The stripers are already up river. I don't have many trips booked during the next few weeks as I scheduled some time off. If you may be interested email or call me. Last year the water conditions kept me out of the striper game.

After the stripers , I'll be heading to the lower Klamath for some spring chinook. That will be some time in mid to late May. Depending on water conditions.

Also don't forget the fall salmon season will be here before you know it. We are getting a good quota of ADULT salmon this year!! So book your dates early to get the days you want.

Fish On,
Wally
