Paul Clouse and Al Hurwitz trolled all sections of Los Vaqueros Reservoir looking for both  Trout and Bass. We were rewarded with two nice 1+-pound Mt. Lassen Rainbow Trout, caught along the eastern shoreline in deeper water. We also hooked up with a decent 1-pound Largemouth Bass, and 2 Striped Bass, one of which just missed the limit length of 18 inches by 1/4 inch. The bite wasn't too bad in the morning, but seemed to die after 1 PM.
 
We trolled with streamer flies 15-20 feet below the surface, using lead-core line, fluorocarbon leader, and a small "Wiggle Disc" placed just ahead of the fly to give it erratic action. Shad and Krill scent was sprayed on the flies.
 
Not the number of Trout we were expecting, but happy to catch any of them in the late summer. The surface water temperature was 67 plus to 69 degrees, and the water clarity was exceptionally clear. The fish are more scattered now, particularly the Trout which were previously more gathered in groups in deeper water columns in recent weeks.
 
We await the cooler weather and more Trout plants as we enter the fall season.
