Stocking: The lake was stocked with 1,000 pounds of catfish last week. The next stocking of 1,000 pounds is the week of August 17th. The total stock so far is 4,500 pounds. A total of 8,500 pounds will be stocked this season.
What’s the catch? With warm summer water temperatures and regular channel catfish stockings throughout the season, anglers are finding success both from shore and by boat. Evening and nighttime have been especially productive. Mackerel, chicken liver, nightcrawlers, shrimp, and dip baits have all been successful. Look for fish along drop-offs, near deeper water, and around points as they begin cruising before sunset. Fishing your bait on the bottom with enough weight to hold position has been the most consistent approach.

Conditions: The aerator has been turned on. Temps throughout the water column are more stable. The surface temperature around the boat dock is holding steady at 80.7 degrees. The sun is rising at 6:06 a.m. and setting at 7:52 p.m.
