Here’s a great photo of Steve Beasley with a trophy-sized striper he landed at Community Park. Steve was fishing from shore, throwing a swimbait, when he made this incredible catch.

Community Park has been a hot spot for landing these super-sized fish this time of year. Swimbaits have been the go-to choice for many anglers targeting stripers lately, and this area continues to produce some of our best fish.

We’re also seeing a great trout plant at Community Park right now. Just a reminder—the trout limit is five, and stocking will continue through the end of the month. So trout anglers, get out there and land a few! It would be great to see some photos as well.

Largemouth bass are currently in the spawn and sitting on nests, and the same should be true for smallmouth bass. This is a good time to let them guard their nests so the eggs can hatch and help grow next year’s fish population. Without protection, carp can easily move in and clean out the nests or eat the fry.

Up on Lake Mohave, stripers are being caught best by trolling with various glide baits. Bucktail jigs have been working well too. Both largemouth and smallmouth bass should really be left alone this time of year, as they’re producing next year’s fish—and this window doesn’t last long.
