An outstanding day of fishing for Paul Clouse, Al Hurwitz, and Abel Wong who trolled Los Vaqueros Reservoir on 12/18/25, looking for Mt. Lassen Rainbow Trout. We were not disappointed, landing seven Lassens averaging around 2.25 pounds (total catch weighing about 15.75 pounds). All the Trout were caught on 1/6-1/4 oz Mooselook spoons, trolling 2.3 mph about 10 feet below the surface in both Howden and East Coves. The Rainbows we caught were in 15-25 foot water columns. Several fish struck our lures, but didn’t stay pinned. Pictured here are Abel with one of the larger beautiful Trout, and Paul and Al holding a vary nice stringer of Lassens.
The lake remains quite full, with very clear water, and a surface temperature ranging from 58-59 degrees.
An outstanding day! We appreciate all the excellent help from the administrative and dock staff. They always help to make our outings very enjoyable. We wish you all a Merry Christmas and a
Happy New Year!

We then switched to Mooselook Wobblers and a Little Cleo trolled in the same manner. Still nothing! No bites. We traversed Heron Bay, Swallow Bay, the Narrows, the Marina...... Read More
