While the Fall is open to fishing year round, it is probably cold and slow. If you go, look for Blue Wing Olives and other small mayflies coming off. Small #18 S&M nymphs in black and olive will get fish eating subsurface. Baetis and Callibaetis nymphs under the Fathead Moth is a good combination when the fish aren't rising. Sacramento River - Lower: The river got kinda cloudy last week with the storm, however it has cleared and is fishing great!
Trinity River: The river is still producing good numbers of wild steelhead from Lewiston down through Del Loma
Sacramento River - Upper: The storm last week brought the river up and dirtied the lower end some, it is now in good shape
Baum Lake: Recent reports indicate this is a great option with lots of fish and some big ones too
Shasta Lake: Trout will be congregating in preparation for their spawning runs and will be chowing on whatever is hatching
Manzanita Lake: Storm headed our way this week
