Lake Nacimiento held around 37 percent of capacity, and fishing was productive across multiple species. Spotted bass bit well on crankbaits and topwater plugs during low-light periods, while underspins and finesse presentations such as Ned rigs and drop-shots also produced solid numbers, with shad, ox blood, and purple crusher proving to be reliable color choices. Small paddle-tail swimbait trailers on underspins were especially effective. White bass were active on the surface, hitting poppers, walking baits, spoons, and small live shiners around points and bait schools. Catfish anglers found steady action using cut bait and chicken liver near deeper ledges and channels.
