Current Water Conditions
The Feather River is flowing great, with the Portola gauge measuring around 200 CFS. Water clarity is good and the weather should be good for the next couple of weeks to get some bites.
Water Temperatures
Water temperatures spanning from the mid-40s near Two Rivers to the mid-50s around Clio.
Hatches
Some Blue-Winged Olives and March browns are appearing in the afternoon.
Effective Tactics
Indicator nymphing with patterns like Squirmy Worms, stoneflies, and Pat’s Rubber Legs is effective, especially when using ample split shot to reach deeper strike zones. Streamers such as Sculpzillas and Dolly Llamas are also producing results, particularly in slower seams and eddies where fish conserve energy during elevated flows.
