Owyhee Reservoir is nearly full, all boat ramps are open with the exception of the county ramp near the dam. Water temperatures are in the mid to upper 50s and water clarity is fair. Some anglers are catching some nice bass but fishing has been slow. Look for fishing for warmwater fish to improve soon as water temperatures rise.
Trout fishing should be good in the lower reservoir. Trolling or casting lures from shore can be effective methods for trout fishing this time of year.
No reports on crappie fishing, there will be a strong year class of smaller crappie this year but there may some larger crappie in the upper reservoir.
Channel catfish are abundant in the reservoir, the best places to target catfish are relatively shallow flats throughout the reservoir.
