Cold Creek Reservoir is at 85% capacity. Anglers report Rainbow Trout and Tiger Trout being caught in the 10-12” range. A total of 1,002 Rainbow Trout averaging 9” were stocked this spring. There is potential for some trout to be larger, however, their growth patterns are still recovering after the 2021 draw down of the reservoir to fix the outlet structure. Anglers will do well fishing for trout using a variety of spinners, nightcrawlers, and PowerBait. Fly fishers can match the hatch and use damsel fly patterns, midge patterns, or woolly buggers. With the increased water levels, Largemouth Bass have been reported cruising the shallows. Due to the limited black bass fishery present, anglers are encouraged to catch and release bass to help improve the fishery.
